A Field Inspectors Equipment List |
 |
|
- A dependable vehicle could be a car, van or truck.
- Digital camera (1 mega pixel or greater w/flash) you might consider buying a spare battery since these cameras can’t usually be charged in your vehicle.
- A large wheeled (measuring wheel) and a tape measure (25 ft)
- Computer with internet access could be desktop, laptop or notebook; if you have the ability to connect from the field with a one of the new wireless cards linking you to the internet that would be very useful. I know Verizon and ATT have them available now.
- Clipboard or self-contained clipboard with storage
- Possibly a fax machine or multi-function machine (fax, scan and copy) hat sometimes an item will need to be copied or scanned into a folder before it can be emailed to company.
- Cell phone or PDA. Allows you to check with the company if you have questions at the inspection site or check your e-mail for more inspections.
- A hard hat. This is not required for most inspections but if you do an inspection at a construction site (sometimes called a draw inspection or title inspection) the site may require that all visitors have a hard hat on to enter the premises. Sometimes the construction site will have extra hard hats at the trailer or office for visitors use.
- A good flashlight. Buy one that throws enough light since there will be times when you will inspect a property when the power is off. It is a little difficult to inspect the basement with out a flashlight.
- A GOOD ATTITUDE AND A SMILE! See my video which goes over the equipment at: http://www.youtube.com/inspection007
